Kejriwal-Jung row: Delhi govt locks Principal secy Anindo Majumdar's office
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sought appointment with President Pranab Mukherjee amidst escalating tensions between Delhi government and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung following the appointment of senior IAS officer Shakuntala Gamlin as acting chief secretary. The President’s office is expected to process Mr Kejriwal’s request for a meeting tomorrow after the President returns from Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, Delhi government today locked Principal Secretary (Services) Anindo Majumdar's office in Delhi Secretariat. Delhi government had last Saturday transfered Majumdar who issued the order of posting of Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary. However, the Lt Governor overturned the decision in the evening saying that Majumdar's removal does not have his approval and declared it as void.
