IPS officer was guest of lottery kingpin for a night
BANGALURU: The investigation into the alleged nexus between lottery kingpin Pari Rajan and a top city police officer has uncovered shocking details. Rajan claimed he provided accommodation on the night of September 30 in Kolar Gold Fields to the IPS officer of Inspector General of Police rank, who is under the CID scanner for his involvement in the racket.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is probing the illegal lottery scam, has submitted its interim report, which names at least four serving IPS officers and two retired officers who were allegedly in touch with suspected kingpin Pari Rajan.
The agency is set to send notices to at least four IPS officers, including two former city police commissioners, asking them to appear before it.
According to a National Daily, The call records of Rajan's mobile phone showed 32 police officials had been in constant touch with him over the past couple of years.
